Advanced Renal Support
Haemodialysis at KPC Pet Hospital is performed with a patient-specific treatment prescription, taking into consideration body weight, vascular access, blood-flow rate, dialysate-flow rate, dialyser characteristics and the desired dialysis dose. Treatment parameters can be adjusted during therapy according to the patient’s clinical response and laboratory findings.
The availability of in-house clinical pathology, electrolyte analysis and blood-gas testing enables close monitoring of critically ill patients before and after dialysis and facilitates timely adjustment of treatment.
Multidisciplinary Critical Care
Patients requiring haemodialysis can receive coordinated care through the hospital’s ICU, emergency, internal medicine, anaesthesia and diagnostic services. This integrated approach is particularly important for critically ill patients who require simultaneous fluid management, cardiovascular support, ventilation, nutritional support and treatment of the underlying disease.
KPC Pet Hospital aims to provide comprehensive renal replacement therapy with close patient monitoring and individualised dialysis protocols, supported by advanced diagnostics and critical-care facilities under one roof.
Radiology, Ultrasonography & Echocardiography Facility
KPC Pet Hospital provides comprehensive in-house diagnostic imaging facilities, including X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasonography and Echocardiography, enabling prompt diagnosis and timely treatment of veterinary patients.
These advanced imaging facilities also provide valuable hands-on clinical training for Diploma students, helping them develop practical diagnostic skills. Students are trained in proper patient positioning, radiographic exposure techniques, image acquisition and basic interpretation of X-rays.
Fluoroscopy enables real-time X-ray imaging and helps students understand dynamic anatomical and physiological processes during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
The hospital’s Ultrasonography facility supports rapid assessment in routine as well as emergency cases. Students are introduced to focused emergency ultrasound examinations such as T-FAST and A-FAST, which assist in the rapid detection of thoracic and abdominal abnormalities, including free fluid.
Echocardiography provides hands-on exposure to cardiac imaging and assessment, including evaluation of cardiac chambers and function, valvular function, dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), pericardial effusion and other cardiovascular abnormalities.
Through these facilities, KPC Pet Hospital integrates advanced diagnostic imaging with practical clinical education, allowing Diploma students to gain experience with modern diagnostic techniques used in day-to-day veterinary practice.
