KPC Vet Diagnostics

Advanced In-House Diagnostic Laboratory

KPC Vet Diagnostics is an advanced in-house veterinary diagnostic facility at KPC Pet Hospital, providing comprehensive laboratory and diagnostic services while also serving as an important practical teaching and training facility for veterinary and paraveterinary students.

The facility allows students to gain hands-on exposure to real clinical cases, laboratory procedures, sample collection and handling, diagnostic interpretation, and correlation of laboratory findings with clinical conditions.

The laboratory enables clinicians to obtain critical results promptly, supporting accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, emergency management, and monitoring of hospitalized patients.

Key Diagnostic Facilities

  • Automated Veterinary Hematology Analyzer – Complete blood count, differential leukocyte count, platelet parameters, and related hematological indices.
  • Clinical Biochemistry Analyzer – Comprehensive assessment of liver, kidney, pancreatic, and metabolic functions.
  • Electrolyte Analyzer – Rapid measurement of sodium, potassium, chloride, and other essential electrolytes.
  • Blood Gas Analysis – Assessment of acid–base status, ventilation, oxygenation, and critical-care parameters.
  • Hormonal Assays – In-house testing support for selected endocrine and reproductive disorders.
  • Kit-Based ELISA Testing – Rapid diagnostic screening for selected infectious and other clinically relevant diseases.
  • Urinalysis and Routine Clinical Pathology – Evaluation of urine and other clinical samples as part of comprehensive patient assessment.

The laboratory works in close coordination with the OPD, ICU, inpatient wards, and surgical and dialysis services, allowing clinicians to make timely, evidence-based decisions. The availability of in-house diagnostics significantly reduces waiting time and facilitates real-time monitoring of critical and hospitalized patients.

Training at the laboratory

KPC Vet Diagnostics provides veterinary diagnostic support through laboratory-based investigations and modern diagnostic facilities. Students receive practical exposure to sample collection and handling, haematology, clinical biochemistry, electrolyte and blood-gas analysis, hormonal assays, ELISA-based testing, and routine diagnostic investigations under appropriate supervision.
